West Indian Manatees: Crystal River, Florida


Manatees are an endangered species and are protected by strictly enforced state and federal laws. The crystal clear, 72F water found in Florida's rivers and springs are among the few places in the world where divers can still interact with these rare marine herbivores. In recent years, other popular manatee wintering areas have been closed to divers due to severe harassment problems.
